Q: Do I need to have the donor’s cell phone number?
A: Our system verifies cell phone numbers, and it keeps the donor information together in one account. However, if you don’t find the person in the donor lookup, and you do not have a phone number, simply enter as a guest session.
Q: Is it possible to skip the billing address? We get a lot of new/first time donors who do not give us any contact information except their name and card number.
A: We do not support incomplete donor contact information, as it is best practice for compliance that all donations are associated with contact information. Our service provides demographic information about your donors.
Q: Do we need to enter an email address for the donor?
A: We encourage you to capture an email address so the donor will get an emailed receipt when you complete the transaction. As a workaround, you may use a dummy email/church email if you need to. But, it’s best to have full information for your donor’s card security.
Q: Is the CVV field necessary to process a credit card?
A: As part of compliance, it’s best practice to enter the CVV to keep your donor’s information safe. If the donor’s card has been processed before, you don’t need to update the card info each time. Check that the correct card is being charged before you process the transaction. If you do not know the CVV, you may skip this field.
Q: Can we change the date of the transaction to match the date of the service?
A: No. Transaction dates are the actual date and time that it is processed by the payment gateway. You will need to keep track of keyed transactions for services separately.
Q: How can I pull a report in the mobileAxept portal that reflects the source of the transaction?
A: Go to Reporting>Transaction Detail Report or Transaction Summary Report
- You can filter transactions by the channel property "keyed" in the mAx portal reports (Summary or Detailed), this will filter the results for only these manually keyed VT transactions
- You also can summarize based on the channel field in the Transaction Summary Report (Channels describe where the donation originated. These include SMS, online, social, keyed, etc.)
